Lambda Displays for Wideband and Narrowband Sensors

For modified engines it is always a good thing having an eye on the feedback from the lambda sensor. Typically this is difficult, because the standard ones used in Minis are so called Narrowband type. Those don't provide an accurate lambda value, but only 'too rich' or 'too lean'

We tried to provide a good answer to this challenge by developing two different LCDs.

I won't spent too much time on the therory of Lamda Sensors (this is done on the German Page of this site)but the Narrowband Display uses a 'stretched' Sersor-Curve, making the Result much better readable. The Broadband Display uses all the accuracy provided by the Innovate LC-1 Wideband Sensor to display the current Lambda Value.

On top, the Wideband Display can be configured for displaying the exact Lambda Values of 6 different Fuel types (Gasoline, LPG, Methanol, Ethanol, CNG and Diesel)by setting two Jumpers.

Both Displays are Microprocessor controlled and equipped with a yellow/green Backlight, making it easily readable also during night . Because unsing an industry standard interface for communicating with the LCDs, also all other colors (Blue, White, Amber...)are possible.

Below you find a picture of the Wideband Lambda Display with some explanations.
